What root canal treatment does

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, which is what relieves the pain rather than causing it. Each tooth has soft tissue, called the pulp, running through narrow canals. When this becomes infected from deep decay or injury, the canals are cleaned, shaped and sealed so the tooth can stay in place instead of being removed.

What to expect during the procedure
